Renovation rescue with the Titans

I’ve been a little bit crook this week but today the boys have cheered me up by coming over and starting renos on my house.

That’s right, Friendy is doing the brickwork while Mini is wiring the place thanks to his prior life as a sparky. Not sure how good he is because he’s already fallen through the roof, but I appreciate the effort, and have duly noted where there weren’t holes before … as any good-but-slightly-lazy foreman would do!

Mini is also having a bit of a low week. All year he has been talking up the home game against the Roosters , saying how he was gonna smash his older brother, but with Anthony’s back problems it’s not going to happen, leaving Mark very disappointed.

Speaking of the Roosters, I expect to play this week. I’m still in a bit of doubt, but my knee feels a lot better than it did last week and I hope to get out there and do my bit. If I’m marking Joel Monaghan I might have my hands full but I’ll do my best to stop him.

Not just him, but the Roosters in general. Someone has got to before Freddy lands the tag of super coach. I know Freddy pretty well and I reckon he is enjoying his first taste of coaching, and the players would enjoy having him. He is the type of guy who players will do anything for because he will do anything for them.

(Hodgo just rocked up here with a level and sat on the couch. He’s here purely for moral support and to attempt to usurp me as foreman. Not gonna happen! Jack reckons I’m mad for getting the boys to do all the work but I told him a little secret, when you don’t do it yourself it means you’re smart.)

Speaking of Jack, his golf is going pretty well and he hits it a fair way down the fairway, which is his strength, so we’re working on his putting.

The boys and I went out fishing on Sunday and after that I swore not to go with Sideshow Bob again, until he learns a bit more. Twice he had massive bream on the line and didn’t know, only reeling them in when we told him he had to have a fish there.

Cue Matty Petersen going crazy and then thinking he was Rex Hunt afterwards, even though he had no idea! It was like fishing with a pre-schooler.

Max had a haircut, his hair was so wispy Chloe decided to get him a shave, now he looks like a tough little bugger.

Anyway, I hope we can get a big win on Sunday as we try and get back in the eight.
